Seoul’s vibrant culinary landscape continues to evolve, offering residents and visitors an array of new high-end dining experiences. Notably, the Jamsil and Cheongdam-dong neighborhoods have recently welcomed several premium establishments that blend traditional flavors with modern elegance.
Premium Japanese Cuisine in Jamsil
In April 2026, Lotte Department Store expanded its gourmet offerings by introducing two distinguished Japanese restaurants on the sixth floor of the Avenuel building in Jamsil. Tempura Kiiro, helmed by Chef Yoon Tae-ho, specializes in tempura omakase, serving freshly fried seasonal vegetables and seafood. Adjacent to Kiiro is Hitsunoya, a collaboration between Chef Yoon and Chef Jeong Jae-yun of “Kim Su-sa.” This establishment offers a Korean reinterpretation of traditional Japanese course cuisine, with a focus on eel rice bowls.
Luxury Brand Eateries in Cheongdam-dong
The Cheongdam-dong area has also seen the arrival of luxury brand restaurants, enhancing Seoul’s upscale dining scene. In September 2025, Gucci unveiled Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura Seoul on the fifth floor of its flagship store. This venue reflects the brand’s identity through elegant interior design and a carefully curated menu. Similarly, Louis Vuitton opened Le Café Louis Vuitton in September 2025, offering a unique dining experience that combines luxury fashion with gourmet cuisine.
Modern Korean Dining in Yeouido
Adding to the city’s diverse dining options, Congdu, a name synonymous with modern Korean fine dining for over 25 years, launched its flagship venue, CONGDU 50, in April 2026. Located on the 50th floor of the FKI Tower in Yeouido, this establishment offers panoramic views of the Han River and features BULO, a K-Steak House that reinterprets traditional Korean fire cooking and fermentation, and MULO, an all-day dining format reflecting contemporary Korean gastronomy.
These new additions underscore Seoul’s dynamic and ever-evolving food scene, providing culinary enthusiasts with a plethora of options to explore and savor.
